Gourmet Coffee Accessories

From Cups & Saucers to Grinders & Roasters

Many people such as Niles and Frasier Crane may go to coffee houses to drink their favorite cups of gourmet coffee. However, if you have the right accessories, you can make your favorite types of gourmet coffee at home. There are a few things you will need to be able to do this.

First, you may want to get yourself a coffee roaster, a coffee grinder or at least a good-quality coffee maker or espresso maker. Then, once you have brewed your favorite gourmet coffee, you will need to drink it out of something, so coffee cups or coffee mugs may also be on your list and of course, coffee tables are also available. Other coffee accessories could include pitchers, carafes, spoons, thermometers, canisters, cream whippers, syrup holders and dispensers, coffee clips, knockboxes, thermoses and bar supplies.

You may also want to try out a coffee recipe book or perhaps, you might like to wear your favorite gourmet coffee by buying or making some java jewelry. There are companies out there who are turning coffee beans into anklets, bracelets, necklaces and earrings. The coffee beans are roasted to achieve their rich natural colors and then they are specially treated to ensure their hardness, strength and water-resistance. The beans are then put on chains, etc. and made into items of jewelry.

A thermometer is a good accessory, as it will let you make sure your milk is steamed to the proper temperature. Steamed milk should be dense and velvety and it should be heated to between 155 degrees F and 165 degrees F. Syrup pumps will let you control the amount of syrup you add to your coffee, while knockboxes are stainless steel pans that allow you to easily loosen and discard spent coffee grounds from your filter basket, after brewing. Coffee canisters aren't just decorations for your kitchen, as they also offer a cool place to keep your whole beans and ground espresso in. An airtight coffee canister helps to maintain the ideal temperature and keep your gourmet coffee's flavor and aroma.

Gourmet coffee accessories are available in a wide variety of sizes, shapes, colors, materials and styles. While it's a good idea to have the necessary coffee accessories you need at home, they also make ideal housewarming gifts.
