  • anticipate your recipient's political and religious preferences.
  • send a gift basket to your boss from yourself and your colleagues!
  • remind your husband that gift baskets make easy gifts for anniversaries and Valentine's Day.
  • send mom a gift basket for Mother's Day!
Don't:
  • send a gift basket containing alcohol to a home where a 21-year-old might not be present.
  • send a gift to a business client in any Asian country, where there are strict anti-bribery laws.
  • send a corporate gift without checking your client's company policy on gifts and gift value.
  • order from a non-U.S. vendor, as customs laws may prohibit the prompt delivery of your basket.
  • order from a company that does not have a strong guarantee and return policy.
  • send gifts that are inappropriately personal, expensive or themed.

  • send heavily perfumed gift baskets to people with allergies.
  • send any nut products to a home with nut allergies.
